Application Fee Increases for 2014

Effective January 1, 2014, the fee for submitting an Application for ECFMG Certification will increase from $60 to $65.

The fees for those applying to ECFMG for USMLE Step 1, Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK), and Step 2 Clinical Skills (CS) will also increase, as described below:

  • The examination fees for USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK will increase from $820 to $850 for each exam registration.
  • The examination fee for Step 2 CS will increase from $1,440 to $1,480 for each exam registration.
  • The fee for extension of an eligibility period for Step 1 and Step 2 CK will increase from $65 to $70 per extension.

The fee for applying for J-1 visa sponsorship will increase from $275 to $285. Please note that this does not include the additional $180 fee, payable to the Department of Homeland Security, which is required for initial applicants for J-1 sponsorship.

The new fees will be assessed for all applications submitted to ECFMG on or after January 1, 2014.
