ERAS 2011 Timeline

2010

JUN 29
Update your e-mail and mailing addresses and obtain your ERAS Token using ECFMG’s OASIS.

Start researching programs of interest. You can go to the ACGME website for program information or conduct an Internet search of training institutions.

IMPORTANT NOTE: ERAS does not preclude any students/graduates from participating in ERAS, based on their eligibility for licensure. Before applying to residency programs in a given state, it is your responsibility to become familiar with that state’s licensure requirements and to ensure that you meet any licensure requirements to enter and complete residency training in that state.

JUL 1
MyERAS opens. Once you have registered, start sending your supporting documents to ERAS Support Services at ECFMG. Due to the heavy volume of documents received, the lead time for scanning and uploading documents to the ERAS PostOffice is up to four weeks from receipt of documents. You will be able to begin applying to programs on September 1 at 8:00 a.m., Eastern Time in the United States.

Start approaching your letter writers to secure letters of recommendation, which should arrive at ECFMG by August 1. Start creating electronic slots for your letter writers at MyERAS.

Registration for the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), or “the Match,” opens on the NRMP website. Register now!
