Dear Applicants,
Over the past several weeks, we have received thoughtful and detailed feedback from many of you regarding your experiences with MyIntealth. We deeply value this input. The professionalism and care with which you have shared your concerns are greatly appreciated. I want to address these concerns directly and share what we are learning as we continue to improve MyIntealth.
Addressing System Challenges
We recognize that some applicants have experienced challenges with the new system, including delays and unanswered communications. We understand how these issues may have caused frustration or uncertainty, particularly during such an important stage of your careers. In addition, we are aware that many of you have questions related to the timing of the MyIntealth launch. These questions are important to us, and we are committed to providing clarity and guidance wherever possible.
Please know that we are actively working to address both the system challenges and the questions you have raised. Our goal is to support all IMGs through this process, and your feedback continues to guide improvements as we work toward a smoother, more reliable experience for everyone.
September Timeline Concerns
We also understand the concerns raised about recent issues and their potential impact on U.S. residency interview opportunities. On September 24, residency programs will gain access to ERAS applications for the first time. We have asked program directors not to make final interview decisions based solely on whether an applicant’s certification status appears complete on that date, and to continue checking for updates throughout the season. We are actively engaging with residency programs to reinforce the importance of considering all qualified applicants and to safeguard opportunities for IMGs throughout the Match process.
What We’re Learning
We know this is a pivotal season for many IMGs, and we understand the weight it carries. The timing of the MyIntealth launch was carefully considered, balancing multiple factors such as the breadth of our services, the length of the Match cycle, and the importance of aligning with residency program start dates. While there was never going to be a perfect moment, MyIntealth represents a transformative step forward, modernizing our capabilities and providing a stronger foundation to support every applicant.
With an implementation of this magnitude, challenges were anticipated, and we are addressing them directly: resolving issues as they arise, engaging programs to protect opportunities for IMGs, and building the long-term benefits of this system. Please know that every concern raised is being taken seriously and addressed, even if progress is not always visible to every applicant.
Moving Forward Together
Achieving ECFMG Certification, engaging in U.S. residency, or embarking on a professional career in medicine reflects years of preparation and significant personal investment. We remain committed to ensuring that our processes are clear, reliable, and supportive of this journey. We thank you for your thoughtful feedback and patience during this transition. Your input continues to guide our improvements, and we will provide further updates to the community as this work continues.
With respect and appreciation,
Eric Holmboe, MD
