Intealth™ Selects Lyuba Konopasek, MD, to Lead FAIMER® Division

Dr. Konopasek will join Intealth as Senior Vice President and Executive Director of FAIMER on June 24, 2024

Lyuba Konopasek, MD

Intealth announced today that it has selected Lyuba Konopasek, MD, an innovative leader with global experience across the medical education continuum, as Executive Director of its FAIMER Division and Intealth Senior Vice President. Dr. Konopasek will join Intealth on June 24, 2024.

Dr. Konopasek comes to Intealth from the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University where she is Senior Associate Dean for Education, with oversight for both undergraduate and graduate medical education. Prior to this, she was the Director for Physician Engagement and Well-Being Programs and the Designated Institutional Official for NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, overseeing more than 150 residency and fellowship programs at both the Columbia and Weill Cornell campuses. She served a three-year term as Associate Dean for Medical Education at the Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q).

Dr. Konopasek is a graduate of Brown University and the Pritzker School of Medicine of the University of Chicago. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

“Dr. Konopasek is passionate about medical education as a transformational endeavor—for practitioners, institutions, and ultimately, for patients,” said Intealth President and CEO Eric Holmboe, MD. “Her demonstrated success in building connections, innovative educational programs, and collective problem-solving makes her an extraordinary fit to lead FAIMER, which has partnerships with health professions educators, researchers, and institutions around the world.”

Dr. Konopasek brings a wealth of faculty development experience, including work in China, Israel, Italy, Tanzania, and the United States, as well as foundational work while at WCMC-Q. This work has focused on building infrastructure and local capacity for education and clinical care. She has presented numerous faculty development workshops on topics including effective teaching skills, professionalism, communication skills, clinical reasoning, feedback, and assessment strategies both nationally and internationally. Most recently, she has focused her faculty development activities on physician well-being and has served on the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education’s Task Force on Physician Well-Being. Dr. Konopasek is Chair-elect of the Association of American Medical Colleges’ Medical Education Senior Leaders group and a Fellow of Drexel University’s Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine program.

“I’ve had the opportunity to see first-hand the impact of FAIMER’s work in developing faculty and research in medical education,” said Dr. Konopasek. “I’m energized by the prospect of helping to develop strategies to strengthen and expand this work and to contribute to Intealth’s goal of advancing education across the health professions, in order to improve health outcomes for all.”
