Pathway 6 is for applicants who do not meet the eligibility requirements for Pathway 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 and\/or have failed the former Step 2 Clinical Skills (CS) component of the United States Medical Licensing Examination<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0(USMLE<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>). Pathway 6 requires an applicant\u2019s clinical skills to be evaluated by licensed physicians through in-person clinical encounters.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>International medical graduates (IMGs) can now complete their Pathway 6 application through the <a href=\"https:\/\/pathways.ecfmg.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Application for Pathways for ECFMG Certification for 2022 Match<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Licensed physicians who evaluate the clinical skills of Pathway 6 applicants can now access ECFMG\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/verifyclinicalskills.ecfmg.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Clinical Skills Evaluation and Attestation Portal<\/a> to complete the required evaluations. Physician evaluators should access the Pathway 6 Mini-Clinical Evaluation Exercise (Mini-CEX) and use the e-mail address they provided to the IMGs they are evaluating.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Detailed information on Pathway 6, including criteria for acceptable clinical encounters, criteria for acceptable evaluators, and instructions for applicants, is available at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecfmg.org\/certification-requirements-2022-match\/pathway-6.html\">Pathway 6: Evaluation of Clinical Patient Encounters by Licensed Physicians<\/a>.
