If you participated in the ERAS 2019 season and also participate in the ERAS 2020 season, you will be eligible to reuse your documents at the time you make an ERAS 2020 Token request via OASIS or the MyECFMG mobile app.
If you are eligible to reuse your documents, you are not required to resubmit:
- Medical Student Performance Evaluations (MSPEs)
- Medical school transcripts
- Postgraduate Training Authorization Letters (PTALs)
- Letters of recommendation (LoRs) that were used in a previous ERAS season(s)
Within five business days from the time you register your Token at the MyERAS website, ERAS Support Services will upload your stored MSPE, medical school transcript, and photograph to the ERAS 2020 application. If you submitted a PTAL, you must first indicate in the Additional Documents section of MyERAS that you are using a PTAL before it can be transferred to your ERAS 2020 application.
If there have been changes to the content of your MSPE, medical school transcript, or PTAL, and you would like to submit the modified document(s), submit the document(s) to ERAS Support Services at ECFMG. See Submission At-a-Glance for an overview of the available methods of submitting supporting documents. Once your modified documents have been received at ECFMG, they will be transmitted to your ERAS application, replacing last season’s document(s).
If you would like to submit a new photograph, you must submit a digital photograph using the MyECFMG mobile app or ECFMG’s OASIS. This will automatically replace the previously submitted photograph.
For detailed instructions on submitting supporting documents, see the Supporting Documents page.
Guide to Reusing Letters of Recommendation (LoRs)
You can import your LoRs from a previous ERAS season(s) in MyERAS. To access your LoRs from the previous season, you must request your Residency Token using ECFMG's OASIS or the MyECFMG mobile app and register at MyERAS. For more details, please see the information on the AAMC's website.
Please note that once you complete the transfer process in MyERAS, your LoRs will immediately be available to assign to programs. There is no additional processing of those documents.
