Changes to Step 2 CS Rescheduling Fees Allow Early Scheduling, Greater Flexibility in Changing Testing Appointments

Step 2 CS rescheduling fees will be eliminated for applicants who cancel scheduled testing appointments more than 14 days before the scheduled test date. This change will take effect at approximately 12:00 noon (eastern time in the United States) on June 24, 2005. Rescheduling fees will continue to apply to applicants who cancel within 14 days of their scheduled test date and those who miss their scheduled test date without canceling.

The purpose of this change is to allow applicants registered for Step 2 CS to schedule their testing appointments early, while retaining the flexibility to reschedule at no cost, with a minimal period of notice. Demand for Step 2 CS testing spaces during the second half of 2005 is expected to be unusually heavy. If you plan to take Step 2 CS during 2005, you are strongly encouraged to register early and schedule your testing appointment for the earliest possible date. As a result of the change that will take effect on June 24, you will be able to reschedule at no cost, subject to availability, provided you meet the requirements described below.

If you have registered or plan to register for Step 2 CS, you should be familiar with the requirements and fees associated with rescheduling a Step 2 CS testing appointment. Effective June 24, 2005:

These new fees apply only to those who cancel after the policy takes effect on June 24. Other aspects of the Step 2 CS rescheduling policy remain unchanged. For complete information, refer to Rescheduling in the ECFMG Information Booklet, available on the ECFMG website.

To register for Step 2 CS, access IWA on the ECFMG website. To schedule, reschedule, or confirm a testing appointment, access Step 2 CS Scheduling on the ECFMG website.
