Update on Availability of Step 2 CS Results
Nearly all of the approximately 15,000 students and graduates of LCME accredited and international medical schools who took the USMLE Step 2 Clinical Skills examination from June through December 2004 have had their results reported. As previously announced, there were some delays in reporting results during this initial period, due in part to the need to accumulate sufficient data to support scoring and standard setting activities.
Going forward, the turnaround times to process this examination and to report results should be shorter than those experienced in 2004. However, because of the complex nature of the scoring processes involved in Step 2 CS, it is not possible to make exact predictions as to when results will be available, relative to testing date. After the initial phase of scoring and reporting has been completed for all centers, we expect that most candidates will receive reports approximately 8 weeks after test administration. However, there may be additional quality assurance or scoring steps for some testing sessions, which will result in longer turnaround times for some examinees.
