ERAS 2011 Repeat Applicants
If you participated in the ERAS 2010 season and also participate in the ERAS 2011 season, you are considered a Repeat Applicant. You will be identified as a Repeat Applicant automatically at the time you make an ERAS 2011 Token request via OASIS.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You are a Repeat Applicant for the ERAS 2011 season only if you participated in ERAS 2010; applicants from prior ERAS seasons will not be identified as Repeat Applicants.
Repeat Applicants are not required to resubmit:
- Medical Student Performance Evaluations (MSPEs)
- medical school transcripts
- photographs
- letters of recommendation (LoRs) that were transmitted to the ERAS PostOffice during ERAS 2010
IMPORTANT NOTE: Only those LoRs that were transmitted to the ERAS PostOffice during ERAS 2010 will be available for reuse for ERAS 2011. If you submitted an LoR but did not finalize the letter writer in MyERAS, that LoR was not transmitted to the ERAS PostOffice and will not be available for reuse for ERAS 2011. To use that letter for ERAS 2011, submit it to ERAS Support Services, accompanied by a completed Document Submission Form (DSF).
Within one to two business days of the time you use your Token to register at the MyERAS website, ERAS Support Services will upload your stored MSPE, medical school transcript, and photograph to the ERAS 2011 PostOffice. LoRs will be uploaded to the ERAS PostOffice within one to two business days from the time that you reserve an electronic slot for the letter writer in MyERAS.
You will be able to track the status of these documents via OASIS.
If there have been changes to the content of your MSPE, medical school transcript, or LoR, and you would like to submit the modified document(s), mail the document(s) to ERAS Support Services at ECFMG, accompanied by a completed DSF. Indicate in the “Comments/Special Instructions” field of the DSF that this is a replacement for your previously submitted document(s). Once your modified documents have been received at ECFMG, they will be scanned and uploaded to the ERAS PostOffice, replacing last season’s document(s).
If you would like to submit a new photograph, you must submit a digital photograph using ECFMG’s OASIS. This will automatically replace the previously submitted photograph. You do not need to submit a DSF with a digital photograph.
For complete instructions on submitting supporting documents, see the Documents page.
Guide to Reusing Letters of Recommendation
After you have completed your request for an ERAS 2011 Token through OASIS, you will be presented with a list of the LoRs that were transmitted to the ERAS PostOffice during ERAS 2010. In order to reuse an LoR for ERAS 2011, you must select the LoR from this list and then save your selections. If you choose not to make your LoR selections at the time of your Token request, you can return to OASIS at a later date to make your selections.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Once you have saved your LoR selections in OASIS, you will not be able to make any changes to the list. If you choose to not use an LoR you have selected, simply do not assign it to a program. If you choose to use an LoR that you did not select, you will need to resubmit it to ERAS Support Services.
The reuse of LoRs is optional. It is especially helpful for applicants who waived their right to see an LoR and therefore could not request to have it returned to them via the ECFMG Return of Document Service (RODS). You do not need to resubmit an LoR unless the content of that letter has changed.
All LoRs selected for reuse will be listed on the Verify Receipt of ERAS Documents page of ECFMG’s OASIS after you have registered using your Token at MyERAS. ERAS Support Services will upload your LoRs to the ERAS PostOffice within one to two business days from the time that you reserve an electronic slot for the letter writer at MyERAS, as outlined in the process below.

- Request your Residency Token.
- Select those LoRs that you wish to reuse from the ERAS 2010 season and save your selections.

- Once registered, allow one to two business days for the LoRs you selected from ERAS 2010 to be transferred to your ERAS 2011 applicant record.
- Go to the ERAS Support Services page in ECFMG’s OASIS and click on “Verify Receipt of Documents.” You will be able to view the letter writer information for those LoRs that you have selected to reuse.
- Once you have identified which LoRs you wish to reuse, access MyERAS and go to the “Documents” section. Under the “Letter of Recommendation” tab, create an electronic slot for each letter writer, as instructed.
