JUN
Update your e-mail and mailing addresses and request your ERAS Token using ECFMG’s OASIS beginning on Friday, June 29. Start researching programs of interest. Go to the ACGME website for contact information. Conduct a search of training institutions. Approach your letter writers to secure letters of recommendation, which should arrive at ECFMG by August 1.
JUN 30
ECFMG begins to generate Tokens for all applicants who have made the $75 payment.
JUL 1
MyERAS opens. Once you have registered, start sending your supporting documents to ECFMG. Due to the heavy volume of documents received, the lead time for scanning and uploading documents to the ERAS PostOffice is up to four weeks. The ERAS PostOffice opens September 1. We suggest that you submit your documents to ERAS Support Services at ECFMG in time to arrive by August 1.
AUG 15
Registration for the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), or "the Match," opens on the NRMP website. Register now!
SEP 1
The ERAS PostOffice opens. You can start using the MyERAS website to transmit your Common Application Form (CAF), Profile, and Personal Statement(s) to the ERAS PostOffice.
SEP 2
ECFMG starts to transmit supporting documents that have been received and scanned. ECFMG will continue to scan and transmit documents every business day through May 31, 2008, and will continue to update/transmit ECFMG status reports and USMLE transcripts every business day through May 30, 2008.
OCT 1
Medical Student Performance Evaluations (MSPEs) should arrive at ECFMG.
OCT
Program directors start their applicant selection process.
NOV 1
MSPEs are released to programs by the ERAS PostOffice, regardless of when they were originally transmitted to the PostOffice by ECFMG.
NOV 30
NRMP Match registration deadline. (You may register after this deadline by paying an additional late registration fee to the NRMP.)
2008
FEB 27
NRMP Match late registration deadline. NRMP Match rank order list certification deadline.
MAR 17
Applicant matched and unmatched information posted to NRMP website.
MAR 18-20
NRMP Post-Match Scramble.
MAR 20
Results of Match announced by NRMP.
First week in April
Registration at MyERAS closes.
MAY 31
ERAS PostOffice closes, ending current ERAS cycle.
JUL 1
Residency training begins.
