1. What is CVS ON-LINE?
CVS ON-LINE is a web-based system for requesting confirmation of the ECFMG certification status of international medical graduates.
2. Who should use CVS ON-LINE?
All requesting organizations that wish to receive a prompt response to requests for confirmation of ECFMG certification status.
3. What do I need to get started?
You will need a User ID and Password of your choosing, an e-mail address, and one of the following payment methods: a credit card (VISA, MasterCard or Discover) or funds in your CVS account.
4. What is the difference between an administrator and a report recipient?
An administrator selects which report recipients can request information using the organization's ID number (V-0xxxx) or Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) program ID number. Once an administrator approves a report recipient, the report recipient can request confirmations of ECFMG certification status. A report recipient and an administrator can be the same person.
5. What should I do if CVS ON-LINE is unable to locate an applicant based on the information I entered?
Please verify that the data you entered is correct. If it is, the data you entered does not agree with our records. Please contact us at cvsonline@ecfmg.org. You may be required to provide us with copies of the physician's legal documents (i.e., birth certificate, passport).
6. How will I receive the report?
Reports will be delivered electronically. If you wish to have a report sent by mail on our blue safety paper, there will be an additional $5.00 fee.
7. I need to make a change to my report recipient information, what should I do?
Login to CVS ON-LINE and select Edit Contact Info. You can make the necessary changes to your personal information. This will deactivate your account until the organization's administrator approves the changes. Administrators will be notified via e-mail of report recipients requiring review and reactivation.
8. What can I view in Request History?
Request History allows you to search all of your requests and view reports that have been requested electronically through CVS ON-LINE.
9. How can I verify the authenticity of this report?
To verify the authenticity of a report, please visit the secure URL printed on the report and enter the unique report verification code found on the bottom of the report.
